Requirements for Early Acceptance Nomination to the Tulane University School of Medicine Program:

  • Complete the proposed sequence of courses for the Early Acceptance Program by the end of the sophomore year with a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA. (Summer sessions are allowed.) Six hours of foreign language (or advanced placement credit) must also be completed before graduation.
  • Complete and submit the application for the Early Acceptance Program to the Chair of the Early Acceptance Committee.-Includes a personal statement, three letters of recommendation, and official transcripts
  • Interview with the Early Acceptance Committee. Only four students from Nicholls State University can be nominated each year.

Requirements for Early Acceptance to the Tulane University School of Medicine:

  • The four nominated students must complete their baccalaureate degree with a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA and all requirements of the program.
  • Nominees must take the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) online and score a minimum of 27 to gain acceptance by Tulane University Medical School using the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).
  • Nominees may retake the MCAT online up to three times per year if necessary starting in January. However AMCAS deadlines are in December of your senior year for the following fall semester’s freshman medical school class. So you should have the 27 minimum MCAT score by December of your senior year.

  • Nominees may also apply to other medical schools at the same time.
