Katina Samanie

A large Styrofoam container filled with well-seasoned crawfish is Katina Samanie’s idea of a good meal. Toss in snoballs, friends and sunny skies and Samanie will soon be reminiscing about attending Crawfish Day during her college days at Nicholls State University.
Samanie, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2005, is now a staff accountant at Marine Systems Inc. in Houma. However, Samanie has not abandoned her alma mater; she now serves as president of the College of Business Administration Alumni Association.
As a Nicholls student, Samanie most enjoyed the interaction with faculty members and students. She says the high expectations of faculty members and fellow students prepared her for the daily challenges of the accounting field.
