Dr. Kevin Breaux

breaux.JPGAssistant Professor of Accounting

When Dr. Kevin Breaux began teaching accounting at Nicholls State University in 2003, he had a difficult time getting used to calling his colleagues by their first names. It wasn’t that he didn’t know their first names. But because he earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Nicholls, Breaux was more accustomed to addressing these familiar faces more formally.

I love being back at my alma mater, Breaux says. Teaching with professors who taught me was different at first, but the reason why I wanted to earn a Ph.D. was so that I could teach at Nicholls and give something back.

In addition to three years of teaching experience at Nicholls, Breaux also has both private financial and tax accounting experience. He did daily bookkeeping and prepared tax returns at Warren Hohensee Accountant Inc. in Raceland and at Gulf Coast Mfg. Inc. in Houma. Breaux is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Institute of Management Accountants.

In his spare time, Breaux enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hunting and fishing.
