Lionel O. Naquin, Jr.

Lionel
Naquin Jr. is a native of Thibodaux and an alumnus of
Nicholls. He graduated magna cum laude in Business in
1968 and received his M.B.A. from Nicholls in 1972.
He became a certified public accountant in 1975.
After receiving his bachelor's degree, he landed a position at St. Joseph Hospital in 1968 as an accountant and later as assistant administrator. He worked for one year as assistant administrator after the change to Thibodaux General Hospital. In 1976, Naquin joined the Nicholls staff as an auditor and became the controller in 1980. He was promoted to his current position in 1986. Naquin also is president of an accounting firm where he works part time.
Naquin is the charter president of Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity and the president of the Commerce Club. He was inducted into the Nicholls Graduate Hall of Fame in 1977. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society, an honorary member of Phi Kappa Theta social fraternity and served as charter president of the College of Business Administration Alumni Association.
A member of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce, Naquin has served his community through a number of organizations including the Thibodaux Jaycees, the Thibodaux Rotary Club, the Lafourche Council Knights of Columbus, Bayou Country Club Civic Organization and the E.D. White High School Cardinal Club and Foundation.
His awards include the Marie Fletcher Distinguished Service Award, the James Lynn Powell Outstanding Alumnus of Nicholls State University Award, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Who's Who in U.S. Executives and Outstanding Young Men of America.
Presently, Naquin is a member of the South Central Chapter of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Louisiana Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and the Southwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
Naquin is married to the former Sharon Metcalf and has a son and two daughters.
