Steps to Enrollment
Enrolling as a Nicholls student is as easy as 1-2-3-4-5
Step 1: Complete an application for admission and submit the application fee.
This allows Nicholls to access your high school transcript information from the State Board of Regents (STS) system. We will be able to track your progress towards the TOPS core and receive six, seven, and final semester transcripts and grades. Be aware that the scholarship deadline is January 5 of each year, and your application for admission is your scholarship application. You can apply online at www.nicholls.edu/apply.
Step 2: Send your ACT scores to us.
Nicholls’ ACT code is 1580, so please send us your scores as soon as you get them! Without an ACT score, we cannot make an admissions decision. Once we have a set of scores, we can then advise you as to what additional steps, if any, you need to take to be admitted. Be sure to get your ACT scores to us by January 5 if you wish to be considered for a scholarship.
Step 3: Complete the FAFSA form and apply for housing.
If you plan on applying for financial aid, in January the new FAFSA form will be available for your completion online. For more information on this process, please visit the Office of Financial Aid website.
If you plan to live on campus, the earlier you complete your housing application, the better. For more information on living on campus, please visit the Office of Housing Operations.
Step 4: Attend Orientation
After you have been admitted, in the spring of your senior year you will be invited to an orientation program, where you will register for classes and learn about other opportunities that await you as a part of the Nicholls family.
Step 5: Pay your fees and attend classes in August
Once you have attended orientation and have your class schedule, sometime around the middle of July, fees will be posted, and you will need to pay your fees in order to let us know that you will be joining the Nicholls family in the fall.
