This website is dedicated to providing you with additional information as you prepare for Advanced Credit Testing on Saturday, February 21, 2015. As an academically talented student, we believe you deserve an opportunity to enter Nicholls as a first-time freshman and begin your academic career with earned college credits. This can be accomplished by successfully passing the advanced credit tests available in various subject areas. Any credits earned from Nicholls Advanced Credit Testing are valid only at Nicholls and are not transferable to other universities.
Nicholls Advanced Credit Testing is available for qualified high school seniors planning on attending Nicholls. To participate in advanced credit testing, a student must have an ACT composite score of 24 or higher. All tests except for mathematics will be given on February 21, 2015 in Peltier Auditorium located in Peltier Hall (campus map). Check-in for testing begins at 8:00 a.m. Individual tests are not timed, but all tests must be completed between 8:30 a.m and 12:30 p.m. Students should bring pencils and photo identification. There is no charge for advanced credit testing.
When considering which test(s) you will take, prioritize them accordingly and remember that quality is better than quantity. Taking a fewer number of tests, concentrating on them, and passing those tests is more beneficial to you rather than taking several tests and not passing as many (if any). The trigonometry and calculus test are not administered on February 21. Mathematics testing will be held on Monday, May 11. Even though mathematics tests are given on a different day, if you are interested in taking either the trigonometry or calculus test, please indicate that on your registration form. For more information regarding the mathematics test please click on the following link: 2015 Nicholls Mathematics Advanced Credit Testing.
If you are unable to attend testing on February 21, make-up testing will be held from February 23 – 27, 2015. Should your situation warrant make-up testing, you must get prior approval from the testing administrator; “walk-ins” for make-up testing is not allowed.
We look forward to meeting you and we hope that your participation in this day of testing is a step toward your becoming a part of the Nicholls family. Enjoy your senior year and if there is anything we can assist you with, please let us know.
