The Department of Allied Health Sciences has achieved 100 percent accreditation of all programs which are mandated for national accreditation. This distinction ensures that the quality of education received in any of the allied health programs is of the highest standards. The allied health sciences programs provide the education and skills needed to excel in today’s health care market.
- The cardiopulmonary care science program and the advanced course offerings in respiratory therapy are nationally accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. The advanced course offerings in respiratory therapy meet the criteria for optional/advanced credentialing administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Students completing the communicative disorders program are eligible for licensure in Louisiana as a Speech Therapy Assistant and formal graduate study.
- The didactic program in dietetics is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetic Association.
- The athletic training program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
