Admission to Programs
Due to the limited number of faculty and available clinical resources, admission to clinical courses in each of the department’s programs is competitive. Students will learn about the admission process, which differs for each program, in their university studies course. The requirements are also available on each program’s Web page or can be obtained by contacting the respective program director.
To be admitted to one of the programs, a student must first meet university requirements and then apply to the appropriate program. Students typically may not begin clinical courses until their sophomore year, sometimes later depending on the program.
NOTE: High school seniors interested in majoring in an allied health program should apply to Nicholls State University through the Office of Admissions. Students typically remain in University College for their first year before they meet the requirements to be accepted into their desired major.
