Advanced Standing Requirements

Advanced standing may be granted to individuals who hold a credential and/or license in the health care field. The advanced standing pathway is designed to award credit for existing knowledge. Eligible students are awarded 30 semester hours of credit toward their degree. This allows advanced standing students to bypass taking the following courses, required of traditional students in the cardiovascular technology concentration:

  • AHSC 220 — Pathophysiology
  • AHSC 221 — Pharmacology
  • AHSC 308 — Optimizing Wellness During Health and Disease
  • AHSC 408 — Medical Conditions
  • DIET 200 — Applied Nutrition
  • DIET 330 — Health Beliefs and Practices in a Diverse Society
  • PSYC 212 — Life Span Developmental Psychology
  • Electives (9 hours)
