Advanced Cardiopulmonary
The Advanced Cardiopulmonary Care concentration (AHCP) under the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences has been identified as one of the academic programs being impacted by the current budgetary constraints placed on Nicholls State University.
Due to accreditation mandates by the Commission on Accrediation of Respiratory Therapy, students interested in a career as a Respiratory Therapist can complete the Associate of Science degree in Cardiopulmonary Care Science at Fletcher Community College and then are eligible to sit for both the Certified Respiratoy Therapist (CRT) credentialling examination and the Registered Respiratoy Therapist (RRT) credentialling examimation.
Once the student has sucessfully passed the CRT examination, then he/she can continue their academic education by pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Supervision and Management. Any students can contact the department at 985-493-2624 to schedule a meeting with a faculty advisor. The Allied Health faculty members continue to serve as an excellent resource for professional career counseling and academic advising.
