Wellness & Sports Science
The Wellness and Sports Science concentration (AHWS) under the Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences has been identified as one of the academic programs being impacted by the current budgetary constraints placed on Nicholls State University.
Students interested in a career in wellness and sports science are being recommended to consider a major in Athletic Training. The B.S. degree in Athletic Training will provide the student with a solid foundation and the necessary coursework to qualify him/her to sit for the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s examinations for Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or Certified Personal Trainer.
Students are asked to contact the Department of Allied Health Sciences at 985-493-2624 to schedule a meeting with a faculty advisor. The Allied Health faculty members continue to serve as an excellent resource for professional career counseling and academic advising.
