Language, type style, imagery and symbols are all vital ingredients to create works that convey critical thought.
The Nicholls State University graphic design program provides students with the strategies and techniques to become successful professionals. Coursework covers commercial, cultural, social, historical and technological concepts within a graphic design context. Emphasis is placed on computer graphics. A campaign class also requires students to create a complete public identity for a local service or product.
As the largest area of concentration within the Department of Art, graphic design is a vital component to the program. With roots in both commercial and conceptual thinking, the graphic design faculty members have distinguished areas of expertise, which expand their students’ range of knowledge.
The graphic design program also works with many of Louisiana’s outstanding design firms and area businesses to make internships available for undergraduate students.
