|Through an artistic lens.
Nicholls art students pursuing a concentration in photography/digital media begin their studies in Fundamentals of Photography where they learn camera skills, darkroom basics for black and white photographs and fundamental principles necessary to the artist.
At the intermediate level, students further develop black and white photography, experiment with a variety of printing techniques and gain an understanding of photography as a form of representation and aesthetic communication. Digital photography students learn the basics of scanning, image control and manipulation. Color and large format photography and studio lighting are introduced in the advanced photography course.
