Portfolios
The Nicholls Department of Art does not require incoming freshman to submit a portfolio of their work, and there are no advanced placement courses. Therefore, all students will begin their college career at the fundamental level. Incoming freshman are, however, encouraged to sharpen their skills through practice and dedicated research to their area of interest or concentration.
Transfer students (both domestic and international) are required to submit a portfolio of their work, along with a copy of their transcripts, and meet with faculty member(s) in their area of concentration. This portfolio review determines course placement only and is not used as a method of acceptance or rejection.
