  • Choreograph and perform a dance that models the weather, and uses singing and weather-related noises.

The teacher will encourage them to be creative.

The students will make a connection between dance movements and weather description and transformations.
The teacher will monitor, guide and assist students while they act out the weather.
The students will choreograph a dance, accompanied by song and weather related noises.
The students will perform their dance, wearing the masks they have created.
The students will create a video of the dance.

Examples of Weather/Movement Connections:

The weather is nice:
The sun is shining, I open big my arms, I turn around the clouds
The birds are flying; I spread out my arms and move them.
The white birds move from the right to the left, from the top to the bottom
The weather is bad:
The rain is coming down on my head; I shake the props that reproduce the rain noise.
The wind is blowing, I puff my cheeks and I blow out noisily.
The wind pushes away the white clouds that become black, I turn my cloud mask to other side.
The thunder is crashing: feet stamp noisily the floor.
The good weather comes back:
The rainbow appears. I move from the right to the left the prop I made with color bands.
