The "ArtWorks" website was created as a resource for art educators. My hope is that it becomes a place for Louisiana art educators to communicate, share ideas and showcase some of the outstanding work being created in Louisiana art programs. I believe student work, examples, and projects contributed by teachers can be especially helpful in teaching at all levels. Although this is only a modest beginning, I envision "ArtWorks" growing as more teachers and student teacher candidates participate. I invite all of you to contribute to its success by submitting work and projects. I will continue to update exhibitions and project & processes as I receive work throughout the year. (Please see guidelines in submit work.)

"Artworks" became a reality because of my participation in PT3. PT3 is a program designed to prepare tomorrow's teachers to use technology and is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. As part of the training model, each participant must propose a project. "ArtWorks" was my project, and I was provided with excellent training, assistance, equipment and software. As a result of PT3, technology has also been introduced into my own classroom with related changes in syllabi and technology related course requirements on the part of the students. I must also acknowledge the skilled and patient training staff of PT3, Greg Stall, Elaine Angelloz and John de la Bretonne, who were always available and ready to "show me how to do that one more time." Thank you all.

Special thanks must also go to Karin Eberhardt, Designer of "ArtWorks". She spent many hours of her free time showing me the fine points of dreamweaver, photoshop and web design. I thank her for the beautiful design and, as with the others who taught me about technology, her patience. This could not have happened without her.
