Celest Weuve

Celest Weuve was destined to be in the medical field. As a young girl, she walked up to her brother and tested his reflexes — with a hammer.

Weuve has had high expectations for herself ever since. And now she passes those expectations on to her students and the athletic training program.

“The athletic training program will continue to strive to be recognized as one of the best on the state and national level,” she says. “Our faculty are constantly improving their knowledge and experiences, are involved professionally at the state and national level and provide a caring but challenging classroom environment.”

Weuve says she has most enjoyed the daily interaction with students since she arrived at Nicholls in 2003.

“Watching a student grow from knowing nothing about athletic training to becoming a professional athletic trainer is very rewarding. It makes you a part of something bigger — a piece of me in every one of my students that gets passed on to whoever they influence in their lives.”

In her spare time, Weuve enjoys playing or watching sports, going to the movies and spending time with my family and dogs.
