As I have told my classes often, it is worth noting that there is no Nobel Prize in Marketing, Management or Accounting.

I think that, for the most part, these categories are grouped together in that if you are selling a product, you need to manage the way operations are conducted, account for all things sold, weigh the marginal benefits to marginal costs, and introduce the product into a market of buyers and sellers. I think that because they are all intertwined, the “Nobel folks” picked a subject that best covered all of them to avoid overlapping in subject awards. (Another example of how this could occur is that a biography is a biography, but if the person is dead, could also be considered history.) – Amanda
