Rachel Ianni Memorial Fund Overview

Mission

The mission of the Rachel Ianni Memorial Fund is to provide financial assistance to graduate students enrolled in the Marine and Environmental Biology program at Nicholls State University so that they can experience learning through travel.

Award Protocol

Once all application material is received by Dr. Quenton Fontenot, the Rachel Ianni Memorial Fund Committee will review each application to determine 1) if the applicant should receive an award, 2) the amount of funds to award, and 3) if any additional information is required.  If there are no applications or if the committee decides that the applications submitted do not warrant an award from the Rachel Ianni Memorial Fund, then an award will not be given for that specific period.

Award recipients will be expected to submit a minimum of three high quality photos and a description (between 500 and 1000 words) of their travels to Dr. Quenton Fontenot within two weeks after their travel.  Their travel description should include how they personally benefited from their travel experience and how they expect to incorporate their travel experience into their future plans.  The photos and travel description will be posted on this website so that everyone will be able to stay informed about the GOOD that this fund is supporting.
