Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to all business majors. Application forms are available in the Dean’s Office (106 White Hall).

JAMES J. BUQUET SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship awards $400 to one female and one male business student each year. Applicants must have earned at least 75 hours toward their degree, be classified as non-graduating and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipients are selected based on activities, GPA and need.

GERALD GASTON COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP
This program awards up to four $1,000 scholarships for undergraduate business majors and one for a full-time MBA student. Applicants must be classified as a junior (have between 60 and 89 non-developmental hours of credit) and have a minimum 3.25 GPA. Recipients are selected based on GPA, involvement in student organizations, financial need and other scholarships and financial aid.

L.J. HEBERT JR. BANKING SCHOLARSHIP
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a business major who has an interest in pursuing a banking career. Applicants must be classified as a junior (have between 60 and 89 non-developmental hours of credit) and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipients are selected based on GPA and activities.

DR. RIDLEY J. GROS SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,500 scholarship is awarded to one business junior. Applicants must have a minimum 2.8 GPA. Recipients are selected predominantly on demonstrated leadership and the potential to excel in a leadership position. Previous recipients of the scholarship are not eligible to reapply.

NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL FINANCIAL NETWORK SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship awards $1,000 in the fall and $1,000 in the spring to a business junior or non-graduating senior. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Recipients are selected based on GPA, activities and financial need. A one-page essay outlining career goals and interest in financial services is required.

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS BASED ON MAJOR:

Students are encouraged to apply for a variety of other local, state and national scholarships through the Financial Aid Office.
