Enrollment Services
Enrollment Services provides a high-quality support service to the academic units that carry out the university’s instruction and service programs, and provides high-quality services to students.
- Admissions is responsible for conducting the University’s student recruitment and admission program. This office processes applications for admission or re-admission to the University.
- Orientation for first-time entering freshmen and transfer freshmen is designed to acquaint the student with the University campus, academic programs, and support services. New students receive academic advising and complete registration for classes during orientation.
- Financial Aid handles grants, loans, student employment and scholarships. Detailed information can be found in the Academic Catalog or by visiting the office for personal assistance. Financial Aid Counselors are available by appointment.
- Scholarship Program administers the University scholarship program, private or public funded.
- Student Employment manages employment for about 700 students in various capacities on the campus.
- International Student Admissions is responsible for recruitment of international students and processing applications in accordance with University policy and federal guidelines.
Co-Curricular Transcript Program
The Co-Curricular Transcript Program reflects a student’s involvement in extra curricular and co-curricular activities, as well as honors and awards received each semester he/she is enrolled in the University. The Co-Curricular Transcript is an official university document with an appropriate verification stamp/seal. At Nicholls, this transcript is used to consider students nominated for Hall of Fame, Who’s Who, Mr./Ms. Nicholls, and various scholarships. Each student is responsible for reporting his/her involvement, awards received, etc. For more information about the Co-Curricular Transcript Program, please see the Office of Student Affairs Web site.

Code of Student Conduct (PDF) – contains information regarding student rights and responsibilities. It is available online and in the Student Life Office.
Paddle (PDF) – contains information concerning the location of departments, services provide, schedules, student organization, a special section on where to go to get your problems solved, and other helpful suggestions. It is available online and in the Student Life Office.
Parking and Traffic Regulations (PDF) - is distributed to each student, faculty, and staff when purchasing a parking decal in the Parking Enforcement Office.

Student Services
The unit of Student Services provides wellness services and educational programs that assist students in achieving their personal, academic, and professional goals. Student Services includes:
- University Counseling Center provides personal and career counseling, psycho-educational programs, consultation, and crisis intervention.
- University Health Services provides basic acute health care, health education and promotion programs and services, and disease prevention.
- Campus Recreation coordinates intramurals, provides facilities and equipment for recreational activities, coordinates fitness and wellness programs, and maintains campus swimming pool.
- Career Services provides professional coaching, resume writing assistance, interview skill development, placement assistance, computerized and printed career exploration materials and programs, career days, and seminars.
- Women’s Resource and Services Office provides violence against women prevention programs and direct services for victims of violence against women.
- Disability Services provides assistance to students with disabilities regarding their adjustment to college and serves as a liaison with faculty so that students with disabilities receive the appropriate accommodations.
- Wellness Education provides group and individual consultations that contribute to the health and wellness of all member of the Nicholls community as well as programming and awareness campaigns.
- Student Educators and Leaders – S.E.A.L.S. ( formerly Peer Assistance) is a student organization that provides education and prevention programs and printed wellness information.
- Crisis Management serves as a referral point for situations that may pose a threat to campus safety. It includes a response team that reviews concerns regarding faculty, staff, students or visitors who may pose a threat to the safety of the campus and/or a specific individual or group. Additionally, in the event of a crisis situation this office coordinates outreach and postvention services. University Police will continue to be our first responders.
- Coordination of Rape Aggression Defense Systems program which is offered several times per year for women students.
Student Life
Student Life provides programs that provide students with the opportunity for involvement and personal enrichment. Student Life includes:
- Greek Life coordinates the University’s sororities and fraternities.
- Judicial Affairs conducts student disciplinary process.
Auxiliary Services
Auxiliary Services offers a variety of services to students which contribute to an overall positive experience on campus. These include:
- Dining Services are located in Vernon F. Galliano Hall Cafeteria and in the food court of Donald G. Bollinger Student Union. A wide range of services are offered to the campus community.
- Bookstore services are provided by a contracted company. The University Bookstore stocks all required textbooks and materials as well as a wide variety of staple materials and supplies.
- Campus Facility Reservations coordinates reserving all non-academic facilities on-campus and off-campus groups.
- Colonel Card is issued to all students, faculty and staff during their association or attendance at the University. The Colonel Card provides access to designated events, facilities and services.
- Continuing Education coordinates for credit programs and develops youth and adult non-credit programs, which provide opportunities for intellectual and personal development. This office provides a one-step service for coordinating food and housing services, scheduling of university facilities and equipment, and providing management, marketing and fiscal monitoring for a program.
- Housing Operations supervises the mandatory housing/meal plan program on campus as well as coordinates all business functions related to the residence halls, family apartments, and farm rental housing application processes, required deposits, routine correspondence, billing, maintenance, facility operations and provides educational and social opportunities for residents.
- International Student Services provides comprehensive immigration advising, programming, and support services to all international students. Through international student orientation and practical services such as airport pick-up, banking and Social Security arrangements, new international students are assisted with their transition to study and life in the US.
- Post Office serves as a contract station for the United States Postal Service. It provides faculty, staff, and students with post office boxes and services.
- Student Organization Program provides opportunities for student involvement in groups that target areas of interest, leadership development, and community service.
- Student Programming Association coordinates entertainment and activities to enhance the social and educational atmosphere of the campus.
- Student Union provides an environment of recreation, relaxation, social interaction, exploration of personal interests, leadership opportunities, exchange of thought and learning and offers many valuable and enriching services to the University community
University Police
University Police is dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and crime-free environment for the entire Nicholls community. University Police provides 24 hours services. Officers are also first responders to emergency situations and are trained to use Automatic External Difibulator equipment.
- Parking Services Office issues decals to all students, faculty and staff. A parking/traffic handbook is given to each person obtaining a parking decal outlining all parking/traffic rules and regulations.
Student Government
Student Government represents and advocates for student needs and development on campus.
