The College of Arts and Sciences provides a liberal education in diverse areas of study. The College offers associate, bachelors, and master's degrees while providing courses to meet the University's general education requirements. It actively engages students in their own education; fosters intellectual inquiry; instills in students a lifelong appreciation of the arts, sciences, and humanities; and prepares them for professional employment or for advanced study in graduate and professional schools. The faculty of Arts and Sciences share a commitment to effective teaching, service, and scholarly activity.

Minimum Requirements for the Bachelor of Science Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree[ Top of Page ]

In addition to meeting the University's general baccalaureate degree requirements which include a minimum of 45 semester hours of credit in courses numbered 300 or above. The candidate shall:

  1. Complete one of the curricula offered by the College of Arts and Sciences.
  2. Earn a grade of at least C in each required course in the candidate's major field.
  3. Earn a grade of at least C in each required course in the candidate’s minor field.

In addition to the Bachelor of Science degrees listed above, the College offers pre-professional programs in dentistry, medicine, and optometry. Students seeking admission to one of these programs should obtain the professional schools' admission requirements.
