The mission of the College of Nursing and Allied Health at Nicholls State University is consistent with the mission statement and goals of the University. The College is dedicated to meeting the unique geographic and multicultural needs of the region and beyond through teaching, research, and service. Although the College promotes research and appropriate service while preparing students to interpret and respond to changing regional, national, and global societies, teaching is its primary mission. The College extends its mission beyond instruction by maintaining and improving nursing and allied health curricular programs of study, and offering continuing education activities that develop the character of its diverse student population and encourage responsible citizenship in a management environment that promotes faculty and staff involvement. The College is dedicated to continuous quality improvement through assessment and evaluation of both its processes and its current and former students.
The College of Nursing and Allied Health at Nicholls State University seeks to:
provide high-quality academic programs and continuing education activities in all disciplines within the College to support the needs of the region;
ensure access to nursing and allied health education for all citizens of the region;
facilitate responsible citizenship and leadership in all disciplines within the College to support the needs of the region;
enhance the economic development and strengthen the social and cultural infrastructure of the region by providing qualified nursing and allied health graduates.

The Department of Nursing, Associate of Science Nursing Program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Continuing Nursing Education Program is an accredited provider by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation.
The Department of Allied Health Sciences and its associated programs are nationally accredited and certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care, the Cytotechnology Programs Review Committee of the American Society of Cytopathology, the National Healthcareer Association, the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions, the Joint Review Committee for Educational Programs in Athletic Training, the Joint Review Committee on Education for Surgical Technologists, and the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.

Minimum requirements for the degrees offered within the College conform to the University's General Education Degree Requirements. In addition, the student shall:
Complete satisfactorily one of the curricula offered by the College.
Earn a minimum grade of C or better in course work in the major or as specified by the curriculum. Grade requirements in the minor fields are stated in each specific curriculum.
Earn a grade of C or better in ENGL 101, 102, and 368.
NOTE: Programs of study in the College have selective enrollment.
