The Department of Finance and Economics provides a sound classical and professional educational experience which develops critical thinking abilities in all students taking courses in economics and finance. The conveyance of knowledge through formal course work and informal mentoring and counseling is the foremost objective of the Department. These efforts are enhanced by continuous involvement in the development and dissemination of improved instructional materials and methods. |
Finance Program

The university awards the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Finance to the student upon the successful completion of the Finance curriculum and the requirements of the university and the College of Business Administration. The goal of the Bachelor of Science in Finance program is to provide students with an understanding of the role of money and wealth in the decision-making aspects of modern business. Specialization is available in the areas of Financial Institutions, Financial Planning, Corporate Finance, and Real Estate. Through such specializations, students gain an in depth knowledge that allows them to compete effectively for employment and in graduate or professional schools.

Minor
|
To obtain a minor in Finance students must complete FINC 302, 356, 403, and 9 additional hours of Finance, for a total of 18 semester hours. Students must earn at least a grade of C in all Finance courses.
