The university awards two degrees from this department: the Bachelor of Arts in English and the Bachelor of Arts in French. A student earning one of these degrees must meet the minimum requirements for graduation from the College of Arts and Sciences in addition to the requirements listed below for a major in English or French.
The Department of Languages and Literature offers minors in English, French and Spanish. All minors in the Department require 24 hours with a minimum grade of C in each course. See specific programs in English and French for details.
Spanish Minor
A minor in Spanish requires the completion of 24 semester hours with a minimum grade of C in all courses in Spanish to include SPAN 101, 102, 201, 202, 312, 318, 324, and 3 semester hours of a Spanish elective from courses numbered 300 or above.
