U.S. system of law and courts, national and state, relating to civil procedure and rights involving litigants in non criminal cases and controversies, and including adjudications such as probating wills, appointing executors and trustees, homologating (validating) inventories, declaring bankruptcies, and rendering declaratory judgments.
