Mathematics Program

The university awards the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mathematics to the student who completes the curriculum listed below. The curriculum provides a sufficient number of electives to enable the student to concentrate his or her studies in pure mathematics or applied mathematics. Students are encouraged to inquire about their focus areas with their advisors or the department head.

Mathematics Minor

The minor in mathematics consists of a minimum of nine semester hours of credit in courses numbered above MATH 265 approved by the head of the Mathematics Department .

Computer Science Minor

A minor consists of CMPS 130, 135, 220, 221, 222, 350, and 6 additional hours to be selected from any 300- or 400 level computer science course that counts for credit toward the major in computer science. A grade of C or better is required in each computer science course.
