Microsoft Access 2007: Level 1

Dates: August 4 - 6, 2009 (3 classes)

Students will learn how to create and use database objects, including tables, queries, forms, and reports. Topics include:

  • Creating tables
  • Working with tables
  • Using select queries
  • Creating and using forms
  • Creating and using reports
  • Creating and maintaining a database

Prior knowledge of Access is not a prerequisite but participants should have an understanding of the basic concepts involved in working with a personal such as skills that are learned in an Introductory Windows course. Course fee includes textbook.

Time: 6 - 9 pm (Tuesday - Thursday)

Microsoft Excel 2007: Level 1

Dates: May 26 and 27, 2009 (2 classes)

This course, Excel Level 1, is the first course in a series. This course will give you the skills to create, edit, format, and print basic worksheets and charts in Excel. Topics include:

Prior knowledge of Excel is not a prerequisite, but participants should have an understanding of the basic concepts involved in working with a personal computer such as skills that are learned in an Introductory Windows course.

Microsoft Excel 2007: Level 2

Dates: June 9 and 10, 2009

This course will expand upon the skills you learned in the Excel Level 1 course and give you an opportunity to work with some more advanced features of Excel, including templates; sorting and filtering; importing and exporting; advanced formulas; analysis tools; and collaboration.

Microsoft Word 2007: Level 1

Dates: June 23 and 24, 2009 (2 classes)

Word processing is the use of computers to create, revise, and save documents for printing and future retrieval. Microsoft Word is a proven and powerful word processing application. This course is the first in a series of three Microsoft Word courses. It will provide you with the basic concepts required to produce common business documents as well as give you the opportunity to apply them. You will create basic documents using Microsoft Word. Topics include:

  • Creating a Document
  • Editing Text
  • Formatting Text
  • Formatting Paragraphs
  • Adding Tables
  • Using Word Timesavers
  • Setting Page Display and Printing Options

No prior knowledge of Microsoft Word is assumed, but participants should have an understanding of the basic concepts involved in working with a personal computer.

You will use Microsoft Word intermediate features for creating custom templates and styles, managing tables and table data, inserting graphics, creating a newsletter, sending form letters, creating a Web page, and managing document changes. Topics include:

  • Creating and Modifying Templates
  • Managing Tables and Table Data in Documents
  • Adding Graphics
  • Creating a Newsletter
  • Sending Form Letters
  • Managing Document Changes

Participants should have completed Microsoft Word Level 1 and an Introductory Windows course or equivalent knowledge.
