The goal of this educational activity is to provide the audience with the latest information on the management of patients in cardiac, brain and pulmonary rehabilitation. Upon completion of this activity the learner will be able to explain current trends in cardiac, pulmonary and brain rehab, describe the characteristics and survival of patients receiving inpatient, outpatient, and maintenance rehabilitation, identify ways of incorporating wellness into cardiac, brain and pulmonary rehab, identify how to motivate lifestyle management in rehab patients, understand how to separate myth from facts in rehab treatment, discuss techniques designed to improve transfer of skills acquired in therapy to improve daily living, and understand the role of the nurse in discharge planning and follow-up for cardiac, pulmonary and brain rehab patients. The target audience is RN’s.
