COST: Fee includes continental breakfast, break refreshments and handouts
- $70 for individuals
- $35 for retired nurses age 55 or over
- $25 for Nicholls faculty and staff
- $25 for Nicholls students
- $10 late registration fee for registering less than seven days prior to education activity
Speaker:
Michelle Deck RN, BSN, MEd, LCCE, FACCE is a nationally recognized speaker who is known for her innovative teaching methods in the field of health care education and training. She has been training educators and trainers full time for the last twenty years. She acted as a consultant to Creative Training Techniques International, Inc. from 1988 to 1999 and was named “Best Over All Trainer” by the Creative Training Techniques Companies. The National Nursing Staff Development Organization named her the Recipient of the Prestigious Belinda Puetz award in 2000. She was named “Business Woman of the Year” in 2003 and 2004 by the National Business Council. She received the Margaret L. Messore Lecturship award from the Magnolia Chapter of SUNA in 2004.
DESCRIPTION: Effective teamwork, like a great seafood gumbo, requires the right ingredients. In this session learn how to honor what is unique in others while discovering your perceptive differences. This themed program features comparing and contrasting effective ways to understand diversity; analyzing ways to focus learners and educators on the uniqueness of others; utilizing a model to engage others in positive interactions. The target audience is nurse educators as well as all nurses who are in a teaching role.
