Speaker: Sandy Gonzales RN, NP is a Nurse Practitioner at Terrebonne Mental Health Clinic. She has worked in the outpatient psychiatric setting for a number of years and currently has a private practice for outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
Learn how to manage the psychiatric client and make the environment safe for both the client and staff. With the shift in mental health treatment from the psychiatric hospitals to community agencies, medical personnel come in contact with clients who have acute psychiatric disorders on a daily basis. The participant will learn how to manage the client with ANXIETY, MOOD DISORDERS, DEPRESSION, and THOUGHT DISORDERS. Safety Prudent Charting and the PEC Process will be discussed. Also included is the management of the client with ADHD.
Target audience: RN’s who care for clients with psychiatric disorders as well as ADHD.
