Speaker: Jennifer Manning, RN, MSN, CNS-BC  is an Instructor of Critical Care at LSU Health Sciences Center School of Nursing.  She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with several years of Critical Care Nursing.

 

This educational activity is designed for the registered nurse caring for acutely ill patients.  The participant will be able to apply principles of using lab values in clinical nursing practice and interpret common lab results in the acutely ill patient.  Content will include the interpretation of lab results as they relate to: fluid and electrolyte status, glucose metabolism, the hematologic system, coagulation, pulmonary system, renal system, hepatic system, neurological system, thyroid function and infectious disease process.

Target audience:  RN’s who care for acutely ill patients.
