Beginner Belly Dance-NEW DATES

Dates:  February  20, 27  March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 10, 17

This is beginning dance class that teaches the essence of the ancient art of belly dance. Belly dancing relieves emotional stress and tension in the body while empowering women to be comfortable with their bodies. Characterized by snake-like movements combined with sharp muscle isolations, this empowering style of dance develops strength and muscle tone while providing a fun, low impact workout. Classes feature yoga-inspired stretching and detailed instruction, but the main focus is enjoyment of the dance itself. Classes include learning a selected piece of choreography. Appropriate to all ages and body types, belly dance promotes balance in mind, body and spirit. Wear something you feel comfortable dancing in. We recommend wearing a long full skirt or loose pants and a short top, leotard or choli. Ethnic jewelry such as a coin belt or a scarf around your hips will help put you in the shimmy-dancing mood!

Intermediate Belly Dance-Thrills, Drills, and Zills

Dates: 

February  20, 27  March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 10, 17

This class presents an advance dance class that continues to teach the essence of the ancient art of belly dance. Classes feature yoga-inspired stretching, abdominal floor work, and detailed instruction. The main focus of the class is clarity of movements and performing movements. Classes include learning tribal based choreography and learning group dances. Dancers will also rehearse choreography previously learned in beginning level classes. Dancers need to wear a long full skirt or loose pants and a short top, leotard, or choli. Ethnic jewelry such as a coin belt or a scarf around your hips should be worn. *Enrollment in Intermediate Course will require prior approval by the instructor.*

Let’s Dance!- NEW DATES!

Learn to LUV to dance by learning the way to move your body and to follow your leader. For beginners and seasoned veterans. Enjoy the rhythms of the fox trot, swing and jitterbug, even a little waltz, rumba, tango, and cha-cha and even a tad of cajun dancing.. Whatever goes! This is something you’ll take into the future decades of your life! Partners and singles welcomed.
