Aqua Aerobics

Exercise in the water is an entertaining way to build strength and endurance, develop muscle tone, increase circulation and trim body fat. Because the water supports your body, movement is easier in water than on land. Providing resistance to movements, water gives you the ideal medium for painless, refreshing exercise. The instructor organizes the class in such a way that a variety of movements can be used at the same time by participants of various ages, weights, and skill levels. Swimming skills are not necessary, but time for some lap swimming will be provided for those who do want to use this method of building endurance. Some individual coaching will be provided for improving strokes and rhythmic breathing in lap swimming. At the same time those with less experience will use directed exercise in the shallow water. Expect to leave each class relaxed, but with new energy. Overall benefits will include increased mobility, balance, strength, endurance, flexibility, and confidence in the water. All should wear one-piece suits that allow for stretching and vigorous movements. Please bring your own swim fins to the first class if possible. Instruction will be given in the use of fins. The class limit will be 25 students (with a waiting list), so please register as soon as possible to hold your place.

Aqua Zumba is Here!!!
Known as the Zumba “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.
