Confidentiality
All members of the Nicholls State University Review and Response Team are charged with protecting any and all information about individuals whose situations are reviewed by the team. Team members may at any given time through case review have access to personal information about an individual (student, staff or faculty) in the form of documents, official discussions, e-mail, records or other means.
Access to Records
- The Coordinator, usually after consultation with the team, shall determine who shall have access to relevant information.
Team members will have access to records as needed and will maintain confidentiality of said records.
Exceptions to Confidentiality
- Should the team deem that an individual or the individual’s actions constitute a threat, relevant information will be submitted to appropriate administrators and/or University Police.
- An individual being reviewed by the team may choose to sign a release allowing the team to share information with specific individuals or groups.
