Dietetic Internship Program

The Nicholls dietetic internship program is a post-baccalaureate program that requires a weekly lecture course and a minimum of 960 hours of supervised clinical practice at affiliate health care institutions. The program is designed to allow students to gain a wide range of experience. Students are required to complete rotations in a variety of settings, including public health, school food services, nutrition education, catering, medical nutrition therapy, long term care and cardiac rehabilitation facilities, among others. Upon successful completion of the program, students are provided with a verification statement which qualifies them to sit for the National Registration Examination of Registered Dietitian administered by the American Dietetic Association’s Commission on Dietetic Registration. Each spring, Nicholls selects six interns to begin the program in the fall semester. For more information, contact:
