Admission Requirements
Admission requirements include:
- A baccalaureate degree from a CADE accredited college or university with a major in nutrition, dietetics or a related field.
- A verification statement.
To apply:
- Applicants must submit the following materials (which must be postmarked on or before Feb. 15) to Nicholls State University, Department of Allied Health, Dietetic Internship Program, P.O. Box 2090, Thibodaux, LA 70310, Attn: Brigett Scott, Program Director.
- Dietetic Internship Application Form (PDF)
- Typed letter of application
- Current official transcripts
- Verification statement substantiating completion of (or Declaration of Intent to Complete) degree and ADA-approved minimum academic requirements. This form is given to the student by the didactic program in dietetics director.
- Three recommendation forms (PDF) (academic, professional/employment, personal). If one of these categories is not applicable, submit academic recommendations.
- Checklist for application (DOC)
- Personal interview with members of the Nicholls Dietetic Internship Selection Committee will be held for each semifinalist. Each semifinalist will be contacted by the internship director regarding the interview time and date.
- All dietetic internship applicants must participate in computer matching. Applicants should contact D&D Digital Systems. NOTE: There is a charge for computer matching that is due with the applicant’s prioritized ranking.

Six interns will be accepted into each class, which begins in the fall semester. The program follows the university’s academic calendar.
