Brigett Scott

Department Head and Assistant Professor of Dietetics

It’s the most popular New Year’s resolution. And, it’s the hardest to keep.

Weight loss is also a popular research topic among dietitians. However, Brigett Scott is specifically interested in what amount of support individuals have when trying to lose weight and how it affects their success.

Scott joined the Nicholls dietetic program faculty in 2002. What she most enjoys about her job is the student interaction.

“Students are fun, and I like the fact that I learn from them too,” Scott says. “The faculty and students interact on an intimate level, resulting in better learning outcomes.”

Before coming to Nicholls, Scott worked as a clinical dietitian at Terrebonne General medical Center.

In her spare time, Scott spends time with her family, reads,writes,  cooks and sews. She also enjoys keeping up with public policy advocacy for nutrition initiatives.
