Nicholls State University
Diversity Week 2007

Help make Diversity Week a Nicholls tradition

The Nicholls Student Government Association is working to establish Diversity Week as a longstanding Nicholls tradition to be celebrated each year during the week prior to Family Day.

Please attend as many of the week’s events as possible in support of our efforts to recognize the diversity of Nicholls programs, students, faculty and staff.

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the festivities planned to celebrate the diversity of Nicholls State University. Diversity Week 2007 marks the third consecutive year in which students, faculty, administration and staff will showcase the uniqueness of their cultures which form our unique, family-oriented campus environment.

I invite you to participate in the opening ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the Quadrangle. During this event, a proclamation will be presented to formally establish Diversity Week as an annual occurrence on our campus for generations to come.

The opening ceremony will also provide the Nicholls community an opportunity to formally honor the life and contributions of the late Rev. Willie Howard, who played an integral role in the integration of the Nicholls campus.

I encourage you to participate in each of the activities being hosted throughout the week as your schedule permits. Diversity Week is your opportunity to gain a greater understanding of your neighbors, colleagues and friends.
