Students are encouraged to apply for a variety of other local, state and national scholarships through the Financial Aid Office as well as TOPS.

Geomatics Scholarships

C&C TECHNOLOGIES SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded to qualifying incoming freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students majoring in geomatics ($1000 each). The recipients must be full-time students and maintain a 3.00 or above overall GPA. The recipients must also maintain a 3.00 GPA or above in the core geomatics curriculum.

FUGRO CHANCE INC., EXCELLENCE IN GEOMATICS SCHOLARSHIP Two $1000 annual awards are awarded to qualifying incoming freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students majoring in geomatics. Preference will be given to a current or former employee or intern of Fugro Chance, and the recipient must agree to work as a paid intern for a Fugro company the following summer. The recipient must be a full-time student and maintain a 2.75 or above overall GPA.

LOUISIANA SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL SURVEYORS EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP ($1000) is awarded to a full-time freshman majoring in geomatics, and the recipient must maintain a 3.00 or above overall GPA.

T. BAKER SMITH SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in civil engineering technology. Recipient must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours toward the civil engineering option and have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.75. Each scholarship is valued at $500 per semester.

THE C.L. JACK STELLY AND ASSOCIATES EXCELLENCE IN GEOMATICS SCHOLARSHIP is restricted to a student from Louisiana studying geomatics, and preference will be given to a student who has completed a similar two-year program at one of the Louisiana Technical College campuses in the state. Preference is also given to a student who will be of junior standing, but entering freshmen may also apply. The recipients must be full-time students and maintain a 2.75 or above overall GPA. The annual award amount is $2,500.

Petroleum Services and Safety Technology Scholarships

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF DRILLING ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a full-time Petroleum Services and/or Safety Technology  student. Visit the following link for available scholarship application and guidelines.

New Orleans Chapter

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF SAFETY ENGINEERS offers a number of scholarships each year to students enrolled in safety degree programs. Download 2011 List of Awards ASSE FOUNDATION. Visit the Award Program Web site.

HOUMA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN PETROLEUM INSTITUTION SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a full-time student of sophomore status. First priority will be given to engineering technology majors for $250 per regular semester. The recipient must be a graduate of one of the high schools of Terrebonne or Lafourche Parish and must hold no other scholarship, unless approved by the Board of Directors of the Houma Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute. The recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average on all work at Nicholls to retain the scholarship. Need, personality, purpose and leadership are considered.

SOCIETY OF PETROLEUM ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to full time Petroleum Services  and/or Safety Technology  students based on specific award criteria and scholarship availability.Visit the following link for available scholarship application and guidlines.
