Petroleum Services and Safety Technology Scholarships
Incoming and current petroleum services students are eligible for a variety of local, state and national scholarships. In addition, many petroleum industry companies offer financial assistance to their current employees who pursue a degree and seek to advance in their job rank.
Nicholls offers the following scholarships to petroleum services students:
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF DRILLING ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a full-time petroleum technology student. Download AADE scholarship application (PDF).
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF SAFETY ENGINEERS offers a number of scholarships each year to students enrolled in safety degree programs. Download ASSE Foundation Scholarship Award Program list (DOC). Visit the Award Program Web site.
HOUMA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN PETROLEUM INSTITUTION SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a full-time student of sophomore status. First priority will be given to engineering technology majors for $250 per regular semester. The recipient must be a graduate of one of the high schools of Terrebonne or Lafourche Parish and must hold no other scholarship, unless approved by the Board of Directors of the Houma Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute. The recipient must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average on all work at Nicholls to retain the scholarship. Need, personality, purpose and leadership are considered.
NICHOLLS BAYOU CHAPTER ASSE SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP of $500 for the fall and spring semester is awarded to a full-time student enrolled in a petroleum services or safety technology program at Nicholls. Download criteria (DOC).
