DR. SUSAN HALL TO SPEAK AT “UNMASKING THEIR POTENTIAL” IN JANUARY
The Dyslexia Center is pleased to announce that the keynote speaker for its January 25, 2014 annual conference will be Dr. Susan Hall. Dr. Hall, is a consultant specializing in teacher training in reading and dyslexia. She is founder and president of an educational consulting and professional development company called 95 Percent Group Inc. The company provides consulting and teacher training to districts and schools in Response to Intervention (RTI) in early reading. Hall has provided professional development for over a dozen state departments of education throughout the Reading First grant period, including overseeing the development of 2 years of training for the reading coaches and administrators in Reading First schools in Louisiana. Since its inception, Susan has served as one of approximately a dozen certified national trainers of Louisa Moat’s Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS). Dr. Hall was President of the Illinois Branch of International Dyslexia Association (IDA) from 1999-2000, and then served on the National IDA Board from 2000-2002 as Branch Council Chair. She has also served on IDA’s National Nominating Committee. Susan is author of 3 books on RTI and data- differentiated instruction. She is also coauthor with Louisa Moats of 3 books: Straight Talk About Reading, Parenting a Struggling Reader, and LETRS Module 7: Teaching Phonics, Word Study, and the Alphabetic Principle.
