Admission Requirements

To be admitted into the Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling program at Nicholls, applicants should possess the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.50 or better on all undergraduate work.
  • A minimum formula score of 1,100 (GPA of last 60 hours x 200 + GRE score).
  • Completion of 15 credits in prerequisite undergraduate psychology courses worth three credits each with a grade of C or better, including:
    • General Psychology course
    • Statistics and Experimental/Research Design course
    • Two of the following courses:
      • Abnormal,
      • Measurement,
      • Personality,
      • Developmental,
      • Learning,
      • History and Systems,
      • Social,
      • Counseling
      • and Physiological Psychology.
