The first Nicholls Orientation program of the summer will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 7, in the Cotillion Ballroom, located inside Bollinger Memorial Student Union.

First-time college students graduating from high school who plan to enroll in 2007 summer school must attend this program, if they have not already attended an Orientation. Students must have been admitted to the university to attend Orientation.

Support Colonels baseball!

The Colonels will play their final home game of the 2007 season at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Didier Field. The Colonels will host the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Students are reminded that game admission is free with their Colonel Card. Go Colonels!

Congratulations Nicholls graduates!

Nicholls State University commencement exercises will be held on Saturday, May 19, in Stopher Gymnasium, where more than 550 degrees will be conferred.

Graduates from the colleges of business administration and nursing and allied health and the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute will attend the 10 a.m. ceremony. At 2 p.m., graduates of University College and the colleges of arts and sciences and education will receive their degrees.

Phyllis Taylor, chairman and CEO of Taylor Energy Company LLC and president of the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation, will be the principal speaker at both ceremonies.

Learn how to help your student through college!

An orientation for parents of students starting Nicholls State University in Fall 2007 will be held on Tuesday, May 29, at 5 p.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom, located inside the Bollinger Memorial Student Union. Check-in will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Future orientations for parents will be held on July 25 and Aug. 15.
