Week of Welcome

Join Nicholls State University’s Greek community!

Interfraternity Council Recruitment Week introduces potential members to Kappa Alpha, Kappa Sigma, Phi Kappa Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Theta Xi fraternities. Interested college men get to meet one-on-one with fraternity members and attend presentations about each fraternity’s values and activities. Those who have not yet registered can register online. Nicholls Soccer vs. Jackson State

Support Lady Colonels soccer!

After two hard fought home matches resulting in one loss and one win, the Lady Colonels soccer team will face Jackson State at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Nicholls soccer complex.

Students are reminded that game admission is free with their Colonel Card.

Panhellenic Recruitment Week

Join Nicholls State University’s Greek community!

Panhellenic Membership Recruitment Week introduces potential members to Delta Zeta, Phi Mu and Sigma Sigma Sigma sororities. Interested college women get to meet one-on-one with sorority members and attend presentations about each sorority’s values and activities. Those who have not yet registered can register online. A $25 registration fee and transcript of your extracurricular activities are required.

Recruitment activities will begin with check-in and a recruitment social on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 5 p.m. in LeBijou Theatre in the Bollinger Memorial Student Union. Philantrophy Night will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. in the Snack Bar area of the Student Union. Slideshow Night will be on Friday, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. in the Snack Bar area of the Student Union. Preference Night will be on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Snack Bar area of the Student Union. The week ends with Bid Day on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Life Office in the Student Union.

National Pan-Hellenic Council Joint Interest Meeting

Join Nicholls State University’s Greek community!

The National Pan-Hellenic Council will hold a joint interest meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29, in Peltier Auditorium. Any student interested in joining Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma or Omega Psi Phi is invited to attend.

Roommate Matching Social

Find the perfect roommate and new friends!

Nicholls State University Residence Life will host its last Roommate Matching Social before the fall semester on Wednesday, Aug. 8, in the Student Union snack bar area. Registration and refreshments will begin at 5:30 p.m. The social will offer students the opportunity to network and talk to other students who are without residence hall roommates for the fall semester. Freshman Institute

Welcome to your first semester at Nicholls!

The Fall 2007 Freshman Institute will be held on Friday, Aug. 17. Session 1 will begin at 9 a.m. for students intending to major in programs within the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration and the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute. Session 2 will begin at 1:30 p.m. for students intending to major in programs within the Colleges of Education, Nursing and Allied Health as well as University College. Both sessions will be held in Peltier Auditorium.

New Student Orientation

Get to know Nicholls!

Nicholls Orientation will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, in the Cotillion Ballroom, located inside Bollinger Memorial Student Union.

Students must have been admitted to the university to attend Orientation.

Welcome Back Day

Start off the semester with a fiesta!

A fiesta-themed Welcome Back Day will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Quad. The event will feature Mexican music, pinatas, maracas and more. Additional food, music and activities will be provided by university organizations/departments and community businesses.
