Week of Welcome
Get back in the swing of things, fiesta-style!
Nicholls State University will host “Week of Welcome” from Monday, Aug. 20 through Thursday, Aug. 30. The ten-day event is designed to help incoming students meet other new students, returning students, faculty and staff.
Throughout the Week of Welcome, the newly renovated Galliano Cafeteria will celebrate its grand opening, and the University Bookstore will hold a T-shirt sale.
Activities for the Week of Welcome include:
Monday, Aug. 20 — 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Block Party in front of the Student Union, sponsored by National Panhellenic Council
Wednesday, Aug. 22 to Sunday, Aug. 26 — Panhellenic Recruitment
Thursday, Aug. 23 — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Welcome Back Day
Thursday, Aug. 23 — 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Karate Club in Shaver Gym
Thursday, Aug. 23 — 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Thursday Night Live in Le Bijou Theater, sponsored by Chi Alpha
Friday, Aug. 24 — 2 p.m. — Welcome Tea for International Students
Friday, Aug. 24 — 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. — Block Party in front of Student Union
Saturday, Aug. 25 — 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Pool Party in Ayo Pool, sponsored by Campus Recreation
Sunday, Aug. 26 — 9:45 a.m. — Baptist Collegiate Ministry service
Sunday, Aug. 26 — 7 p.m. — St. Thomas Aquinas mass
Monday, Aug. 27 — Spirit Day — Wear your Nicholls gear!
Monday, Aug. 27 — 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Barbecue on BCM grounds
