Senior Day

See what Nicholls has to offer!

Nicholls State University will host Senior Day at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Student Union.

Senior Day is designed to provide high school seniors with information on the application process, scholarships, academic programs and campus activities. Departmental faculty will be on hand to answer questions about your intended major. Departments and student organizations will also speak with students at the Information Expo, held in front of the Student Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Diversity Week

Celebrate the diverse Nicholls community!

Diversity Week activities will begin with a proclamation ceremony at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 5, and conclude on Saturday, Nov. 10, when Nicholls celebrates Family Day.

Fletcher Lecture

Dr. Gerald Early, a nationally recognized essayist and critic of American culture, will be the featured speaker Thursday, Nov. 8, at the annual Fletcher Lecture Series.

The series will consist of a question and answer session with Early at 10:30 a.m. in Le Bijou Theater and his keynote address, “The End of the World as We Know It: War and Social Change,” at 6 p.m. in Talbot Theater. A reception will be held prior to the lecture in the Talbot lobby area. (more…)

German Culture Day

Immerse yourself in German culture!

The Student Programming Association will sponsor German Culture Day from 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Oct. 25, in the Student Union snack bar area. The event will consist will a Power Point presentation and other information about German culture as well as food samplings of German cuisine.

“Oedipus the King”

The Nicholls Players will perform the Greek tragedy, “Oedipus the King,” Thursday, Oct. 25, through Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. in Talbot Theater. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission. (more…)

Speech Forum

Voice your opinion!

The second forum of the fall semester will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Student Union. The forum’s topic is “Resolved, that the ‘Jena 6′ received fair and appropriate justice.” Come out before Halloween Breakfast to listen to other students’ views and voice your own.
