Now at Nicholls

The Student Programming Association and Nicholls Veterans Association will host a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, in the Quadrangle.

The ceremony will include patriotic speeches and music. Hunt Downer Jr., assistant adjutant general of the Louisiana Army National Guard and secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, will return to his alma mater as a guest speaker. Dr. Stephen Hulbert, university president, and Dr. Eugene Dial, vice president for student affairs and enrollment services, will also address those in atendance.

Students from the Generations Teaching Generations preschool will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and students from the Max Charter School will sing “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” The Thibodaux High School JROTC program will participate along with Nicholls students who will sing patriotic songs and perform “Taps.”

Cake and punch will be served after the ceremony.
