Great American Smokeout
Give up smoking for a day!
Each year, smokers across the nation participate in the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout by smoking less or quitting on the third Thursday of November. Student Educators and Leaders along with University Health Services will host tobacco-free activities and educational presentations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Student Union.
Student organizations, classes, campus departments and colleges are eligible to enter the Great American Smokeout competition, sponsored by Wellness Education and a grant from the Louisiana Coalition for Tobacco Free Living. To participate, send a sign-up list of individuals who promise not to smoke on Nov. 15 to Angie Pitre at 985.448.2608. Names will go into a drawing for 50 flash drives.
