Cheer on the Colonels while remembering the Great ‘98!

The Nicholls men’s basketball team will host the University of Texas at San Antonio at 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, in Stopher Gymnasium. Before the game and at halftime, the Department of Athletics will honor the 10-year anniversary of the 1998 team’s accomplishments.

The 1998 Southland Conference championship team finished 19-10 overall and 15-1 in conference play. The pre-game reception will be held in the Colonel Club hospitality area on the second level of Stopher Gymnasium. The halftime ceremony will include a speech from Great ‘98 Coach Rickey Broussard.

Show your love or appreciation this Valentine’s Day with the help of SEALS!

Student Educators and Leaders will sell valentine grams to students, faculty and staff through Thursday, Feb. 14. The grams, which cost $1, will include a card with a generic or special message along with a treat. SEALS will deliver the grams on Valentine’s Day. Grams can be purchased through the SEALS office in the Student Union or through e-mail at seals@nicholls.edu.

Celebrate Black History Month!

The Nicholls Diversity Association of Faculty and Staff will host a luncheon with the university’s first black faculty members at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, in the Captain’s Room of the Student Union.

Tickets are $15 for students, faculty, staff and community members and can be purchased in the Office of Student Life before Wednesday, Feb. 13. After lunch, former faculty members Ida Bush, Eula Brinkley and Eva Jacobs will speak with those in attendance about their experiences at Nicholls. Call 985.448.4525 for more information.
